The Missing Piece Meets the BIG O | Homeschooling

Homeschooling

Hello!

I would like to share a personal favorite…

It all started when I heard Chris Martin’s (of Coldplay) final song on his #TogetherAtHome online concert during the first few days of COVID-19 lockdown. I think he was the first to have that initiative to entertain people while staying at home which I thought was a cool attempt to help people calm down in such a time of uncertainty. He’s one of those artists that I could not forget looking back at COVID.

The title of the song is “O” but the chorus part kept on saying “Fly On”. Such a weird way of making song titles, I thought. So, I began searching for what inspired him to write that song… It turns out, it was inspired by Shel Silverstein’s book…

It was a surprise that there’s more to Shel Silverstein than “The Giving Tree”. (The guy actually wrote more books!)

“The Missing Piece Meets the BIG O” helped me see life from a better perspective— the past, the different kinds of people in this merry-go-round

What I’m trying to say here is. This is a good book to have in a home library.

Purpose (目的): For children to deeply reflect on CHANGE

Autonomy (自主性): For children to exercise their freedom in pursuit of excellence in the personal development field

Progress(進捗): For children to see their progress from a perspective inspired by “O”
